High Blood Sugar Levels?

High blood sugars are caused by the body’s inability to process the sugar from food properly.
Beta-cells are located within a small organ called the pancreas. The normal function of the Beta-cells is to produce and secrete insulin into the bloodstream when blood sugar levels rise. Once blood sugar levels are increased it is insulins job to signal to the liver, muscle and fat cells to take in sugar from the bloodstream. The body then stores the excess sugar in your liver until it is needed for energy.

People with high blood sugar levels either do not produce enough inulin from the Beta-cells or their body is resistant to its own insulin (not able use insulin as well). When the body’s blood sugar levels are consistently high it results in oxidative stress. Oxidative stress contributes to cells in the body not responding to the released insulin and leads to Beta-cell dysfunction. Persistent high blood sugar levels over time may lead to serious effects on the eyes, skin nerve and vascular systems.

Discover GLYSEMA! Glysema is a multiplex optimization formula with 12 key ingredients that provide blood sugar support. These individual ingredients were exclusively chosen because of their ability to support blood sugar stabilization. Berberine, Alpha lipoic Acid, Chromium Picolinate, Biotin, Vitamin D3, Magnesium, Vitamin A & C, Vitamin B1, B6, Folate & B12.

Berberine Targets 5 Major Influential Processes Involved in Optimizing Blood Sugar Levels:

Target #1 Reduces glucose production in the liver
Target #2 Reduces the resistance of insulin and making it more sensitive for the body to use
Target #3 Enhances the metabolism of sugar in the blood
Target #4 Encourages sugars to be stored when insulin is not present
Target #5 Decreases the amount of sugar that is transported across the intestines

Antioxidants FIGHT Oxidative Stress from High Blood Sugars

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) – Counteracts oxidative stress and provides anti-inflammatory activity. ALA is potent anti-oxidant that protects against cell damage by fighting the free radicals that cause cell damage. ALA seems to improve the body’s use of sugar. ALA helps the body become more sensitive to its own insulin. With insulin mimicking properties ALA potentially lowers blood glucose and protect against nerve damage.

Vitamin A – In the blood in the form of β-carotene, protect against insulin becoming resistance. Vitamin A, favorably helps regulate the pancreatic βeta-cell size and function in of producing insulin.

Vitamin C – Has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effects and is associated with lower damage to tissue layers in organs and blood vessels.

Vitamin D3 – Helps to control effects that food has on blood sugar levels and improves the body’s sensitivity to insulin.

Essential Nutrients- Chromium Picolinate, Biotin & Magnesium

Chromium Picolinate & Biotin- Is required for breaking down sugar into energy and as a critical helper in the actions of insulin. Recent reports suggest individuals with known glucose intolerance and insulin resistance, show improvements in blood sugar level control with increased sensitivity to insulin when chromium is available for use. Chromium Picolinate provides greater absorption and more chromium available for better use in individuals with high blood sugars levels. We have further enhanced the absorption of Chromium Picolinate found in Glysema by combining it with Biotin.

Magnesium – Is an essential mineral in the body involved in insulin secretion and activity. Magnesium is a critical cofactor for enzymes that regulate reaction in carbohydrate metabolism and blood sugar control. Magnesium plays an important role to improve insulin resistance. Research indicates that oral magnesium supplementation may improve insulin sensitivity. With emphasis on the need for an early optimization of magnesium intake to discourage insulin resistance.

Vitamin B’s: B1, B6, Folate & B12

B-complex vitamins are water soluble and help break down complex carbohydrates into simple sugars to use for energy. Often adults with high blood sugar levels are low or deficient in B vitamins. When blood sugar levels are elevated the body tries to excrete the excess sugar in the urine as a result the water soluble B vitamin are also lost. Low concentrations of B vitamins may contribute to future development of large blood vessel issues. Glysema supplements the B complex vitamin in every capsule.

B1-Thiamin – Blood sugar metabolism depends on Thiamine as an enzyme cofactor. Thiamine demands are increased in adults with high blood sugar levels. Adequate Thiamine supplementation in individuals might have a significant effect on carbohydrate metabolism, lowering blood sugar levels and the decrease in complications of the vascular system.

B6-Pyridoxal-5 Phosphate –  Supports nerve health. Deficiency of vitamin B₆ are common in individuals with persistent high blood sugar levels. Nerve damage, organ tissue dysfunction and inflammation has been associated with significantly low levels in vitamin B₆

Folate as Folic Acid – A decreased blood level of folic acid increases the chances of nerve problems with high blood sugars.Folate supplementation has been shown to help slightly improve control of blood sugar levels.

B12-Methylcobalamin – Vitamins involved in maintaining the nervous system integrity and is vital in cellular metabolism.
